This is one mean looking meal! Perfect for an epic burger night to end a stressful week, these burgers left everyone speechless! Smoked tofu, vegan cheese, I even decided to chuck in some onion rings for good measure! These burgers turned out fantastically and with a homemade hot sauce, you really can’t go wrong!
4 Servings – Vegan – Vegetarian
- 400g Tofu Block
- 4 Wholemeal Rolls
- 4 Pineapple Rings
- 12 Onion Rings
- 4 Portobella Mushrooms
- 4 Violite Cheese Slices
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 125g Plain Alpro Yoghurt
- 2-3 Tbsp Frank’s Hot Sauce (depends how hot you like it!)
- Salt & Pepper
Drain your tofu block and cover with your smoked paprika seasoning, soy sauce and your salt and pepper to taste
Grill each side on a medium/high heat for 2 minutes a side
Chuck in your pineapple rings and grill both sides until brown
Place a slice on cheese on top of each mushroom and grill for a few minutes until your cheese has melted
Cook your onion rings to the manufacturers instructions (I will make my own one day!)
In a separate bowl, add your yogurt and hot sauce and thoroughly mix!
Assemble your burgers any way you please, pop in a cocktail stick and enjoy! I added my onion rings into the burger but you are more than welcome to add them to the side! Serve on your favorite plates with any sides you want and tuck in!
